Introduction
The main
indicators used to assess the quality of student learning and graduation from
an educational institution, often based on student learning outcomes listed on
the national test scores. National test used as a benchmark in determining the
quality of education. National education ministry is very serious in improving
the system of national examinations. Viewed from a national exam package BSNP
always make changes, ranging from 2 (two) package about to be 5 (five) package,
continue to be developed with 20 (twenty) package item with a bar code system.
Of course the
question is why every national test execution no changes were made. This
indicates that honesty among students has begun to diminish.

Current
Status and Structure of Science Education
Science learning
process requires active student involvement and aims for mastery of cognitive,
affective, and psychomotor formed on students. To see the results of student
learning, teachers are always measuring student competencies with the
competency test for cognitive, affective attitude to assess, and practice
skills or scientific views of psychomotor performance.
According to the
Law of National Education System (2003), a national education aims at
developing the potential of students to become a man of faith and fear of God
Almighty, noble, healthy, knowledgeable, skilled, creative, independent, and
become citizens of a democratic and accountable. Obviously, that character
education must be embedded on students as early as possible.
Learning science
has actually instilled a culture of honesty among students. In psychomotor
assessment, students prove themselves by doing experiments in the laboratory in
finding the concept or theory. Students are in demand to be skillful use
measuring tools, stringing experimental tools, and so on. Psychomotor skills
can be seen from the students who have been skilled or not. But for cognitive
achievement, teachers should develop assessment instruments with an honesty
system.

Major
lssues, Challenges, and Future Directions
Based on the
research that has been conducted teacher in SMP Negeri 6 Sambas, entitled
"The Impact of Globalization Attitudes Toward Nationalism in SMP Negeri 6
Sambas" data showed that 62.5% of students found to be dishonest in
working on the competency test. Teacher is seen as a major problem and a
challenge to infuse character education students.
Efforts to minimize
dishonesty students conducted by evaluating teacher moved. Consideration of
moving the evaluation, namely: minimize student cheating or asking the friend
next to him, to maximize the time work on the problems, and encourage students
compete to get the best value.
With the waning
of the character education of students, teachers should always be given the
charge of character education in the learning process as outlined in the
indicators of learning.
